World Vitiligo Day was celebrated at Rajasthan Hospital on 25th June to spread awareness about Vitiligo skin disease (सफ़ेद दाग की बीमारी). On this occasion, Dr. Sarvesh Agarwal, Vice President of Rajasthan Hospital, released a poster to further the cause. Senior doctors of the hospital were present during launch. Dr. Dinesh Mathur, Senior Consultant, Department of Dermatology said that 0.5 percent of the total population of the world and 2 percent of the total population of India is suffering from this disease. This disease is not a contagious disease, so there should be no discrimination against the patients of Vitiligo. Further there are treatments available for people affected by Vitiligo.
Dr. Mathur said that today awareness campaign is being celebrated by Indian Association of Dermatologist, Venereologist & Leprologists across India.
